Description
L-tyrosine is a conditionally essential aromatic amino acid formed in the body from phenylalanine. It is the precursor to dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline, and to thyroid hormones, which is why it is formulated into cognitive, focus and pre-workout products. The material is a white crystalline powder notable for its very low solubility in water — among the lowest of the common amino acids — which is a real constraint in liquid formats and is why the more soluble N-acetyl derivative is often used instead where a clear solution is needed. In dry blends and capsules the solubility limitation is generally not an issue.
