Description
This product is a pre-blended combination of the branched-chain amino acids L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine in the 2 to 1 to 1 weight ratio most commonly specified in sports nutrition formulation. Supplying the three as a single blend removes a weighing and mixing step for the formulator and gives a consistent ratio from batch to batch. The blend is frequently offered in an instantised form, in which the powder is surface-treated with lecithin so that it disperses in water rather than floating or clumping. Branched-chain amino acids carry a characteristic bitter taste, so finished formulations normally pair them with flavour and masking systems.
