Description
L-arginine L-aspartate pairs the basic amino acid arginine with the acidic amino acid aspartic acid to form a salt in which both components are themselves nutritionally active. The combination gives a more neutral solution than arginine base and avoids introducing a non-amino-acid counter-ion such as chloride, which is why it is selected for clinical nutrition and for supplement formulations where ionic load matters. It is formulated into sports nutrition, fatigue and general tonic products. The material is a white crystalline powder, soluble in water. Arginine content per unit weight is lower than that of arginine base because of the aspartate portion.
