Description
Resveratrol is a stilbenoid polyphenol occurring naturally in grape skin, red wine and Japanese knotweed, the last being the usual commercial source. This listing covers two standardisation levels, 80% and 98%, of the same compound; the lower grade carries a correspondingly higher proportion of accompanying extract material, and the higher grade is closer to the isolated compound. It is formulated into antioxidant, cardiovascular and healthy-ageing supplement products, and into cosmetic preparations. The material is an off-white to light beige powder with very low water solubility. It is sensitive to light and to oxidation, so protective packaging and storage are normal. Which grade is supplied should be confirmed.
