Description
This is an extract of Ganoderma lucidum, the mushroom known as reishi or lingzhi, long used in traditional East Asian practice. Commercial extracts are normally standardised to declared contents of polysaccharides, of triterpenes, or of both, and the two fractions are obtained by different extraction routes — hot water for the polysaccharides, alcohol for the triterpenes — so the standardisation basis tells you a great deal about how the material was made. It is formulated into nutraceutical and herbal supplement products, functional beverages and mushroom blends. The material is a brown powder.
